White Oslo

▁ oct 25 2005

When I woke up this morning, it wasn’t sunny, like it was yesterday. Oslo is a strange town. This is what I woke up to. As the image says, yes, that is snow. In late October. As a dane, I find this remarkable. It’s been a while since I blogged. I’ll sum up my recent activities in this extended entry. :-)

Ok, so I haven’t blogged since.. Well, forever. At least in the supposedly normal habits of a “blogger”. I guess I’m not really that big on blogging. Well, lets outline it in major activities. A while ago I took a “roadtrip”:http://joen.dk/wordpress/?p=16 to Denmark with a few friends ([“Joen”:http://www.joen.dk/] & Henrik). It was just for a weekend, but it was fun. We hooked up with some of my previous coworkers there, and that went well. As some of you might know, I have absolutely no form of sensible memorymanagement (biologically, unfortunately), so I don’t actually know what else has been going on. Oh, I got a cat. My girlfriend has been in Oslo for a long period of time (roughly 3 weeks) away from her studies in Bergen. That was pleasant! Last week, I was sent to our Swedish department here at Opera, to run/participate in a workshop with regards to loadbalancing (HA, VRRP, LVS), and some database planning with possible clustering (á la whatt I did for MyOpera a while back, which still works fine, btw.). I travelled with 2 colleagues (2 sysadmins), which made the whole journey less boring, so to speak. I had fun, and we had a very constructive outcome of the whole thing. Linköping is a nice town, sort of reminded me a lot of my hometown (the fact that I could walk through the central station in literally 5 seconds awakes memories). We released Opera Mini to Scandinavia a few weeks back or so. Today I’m leaving early to pick up a wardrobe I’m buying from some guy I never met, in my somewhat pathetic attempt to compile a nice apartment (I hate IKEA, still my apartment looks like a cutout from their magazine). The usual.
