How to make pizza

▁ feb 12 2006

I’ve been messing around lately, on how to make a nice pizza. I have a bad history of making pizzas that taste like nothing, but this new one I’m making, is actually quite ok. Read on for instructions w/ pictures.

They say that the sauce is the most important part of a pizza. So far I’ve been using premade sauce, which isn’t that bad, but a homemade is better. You just get half a liter of tomato juice, put it in a pan, and let it simmer for about an hour. It’ll thicken up. Put in a fist of sugar, some salt, a teaspoon of oregano and that’s about it. You’ll have your sauce. Here’s the sauce about 40 minutes in, simmering: DSCF1528.JPG Then, you wanna make your dough. Basically just water, yeast (fresh or dry, who cares), olive oil, salt, … Roll it out: DSCF1530.JPG Get your ingredients ready: I like paprika, ham, mozarella, feta, … DSCF1532.JPG Rub some olive oil on the dough and give it 5-10 minutes in the oven on high heat. DSCF1534.JPG Should come out like this: DSCF1535.JPG Now, put on the toppings in this order: Sauce, cheese and then the rest. It’s important that you do it that way. You’ll see why when you’re done. DSCF1537.JPG In the oven it goes. DSCF1538.JPG 10-15 minutes later: DSCF1540.JPG Mmmmmmmmm. Comments welcome :)

Looks fantastic, so if looks and taste go hand in hand that should be a prima pizza :)

@blaze: haha, yeah, not exactly following the traditional circular pizza design, but it’s easier for me this way, since I need to make a big one, and it won’t fit in the pan unless I practically make it square.
